There are not great games on Prime Time this week in the NBA, but there are always opportunities to shake the pph sportsbooks with some wins. ESPN’s doubleheader will have the Warriors visiting Charlotte as the Western Conference Champions continues their road trip in the East. Later that night the Lakers will challenge the Blazers in Portland.
On Thursday, the Mavs and the Thunder meet in OKC, and the Lakers go to Utah playing on back-to-back nights. Those two games will be on TNT.
Last but not least are the Warriors visiting LA to meet with their hated rivals Clippers. The Clips are banged up, and that makes it slightly easy for Golden State. But you know LA always takes the meeting against the Warriors personal. It might be a good one ABC.
These are the NBA Picks Primetime Games for January 25 to 28:
Golden State Warriors at Charlotte Hornets
- Game Time: Wednesday, January 25 | 8:00 PM ET
- Stadium: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, NC
- TV: ESPN
The Golden State Warriors just lost to the Miami Heat on Tuesday Night. They won’t allow earning a second defeat in the season. The Warriors lead the NBA with 117.6 points per game. They also have the best efficiency defense in the league.
Now, neither of these stats are a shock to anybody, let alone to the pay per head sportsbooks. To bet against the Warriors has become a ludicrous set of mind for the last two games.
Charlotte will need a huge effort on both sides of the ball to upset Golden State. The Hornets average 12+ points fewer per game and their defensive skills are not great either.
Golden State has won and covered the spread in the last four games of the series. The Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a favorite, 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall, and 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 Wednesday games. The Hornets are 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games as an underdog.
NBA Predictions: Warriors.
Los Angeles Lakers at Portland Trail Blazers
- Game Time: Wednesday, January 25 | 8:00 PM ET
- Stadium: Moda Center, Portland, OR
- TV: ESPN
The Lakers were embarrassed by the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. They were held to 73 points by a team that’s nowhere near amongst the best defensive teams in the NBA. Los Angeles average 104.1 points per game, but they also have one of the worst defenses in the league allowing 110.5 points each night.
Portland hasn’t been great this season, but they have owned the Lakers lately. The Blazers have won and covered the spread in the last ten meetings against Los Angeles. Granted beating LA is not an incredible achievement, but covering the NBA betting spread against the bookmaker software it is.
The Trail Blazers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on 3 or more days rest. They are coming off a huge win over the Boston Celtics. If they keep their intensity level, they should win easily.
The Lakers are 8-23-1 ATS in their last 32 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record, and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.
NBA Pick: Blazers.
Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City Thunder
- Game Time: Thursday, January 26 | 8:00 PM ET
- Stadium: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
- TV: TNT
To be fair with ESPN, their two Wednesday game are not great, and TNT didn’t get anything better. Dallas against OKC is the best matchup they have, yet both teams are flawed in some ways.
The Thunder is excellent at home posting a 15-6 record this year. After taking on the New Orleans Pelicans for the sixth game in a row, they will be happy to have Dallas at home. OKC averages 106.1 points per game, and they are about to face a team that struggles offensively.
The Mavericks average 96.6 points per game, which is the worst number in the entire NBA. They managed to score over 100 points against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz in recent outings, but that doesn’t say much.
OKC has won eight of the last ten games played at home against the Mavericks, including the last two. The price per head services are keeping an eye on Russell Westbrook triple-double streak. He will be the x-factor as the Mavs don’t have anybody to stop him.
The Thunder is 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games as a favorite, and is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
NBA Betting Pick: Thunder.
Los Angeles Lakers at Utah Jazz
- Game Time: Thursday, January 26 | 8:00 PM ET
- Stadium: Vivint Smart Home Arena, in Salt Lake City, UT
- TV: TNT
We already exploited the flaws the Los Angeles Lakers have this season. Let’s face it; they are a young team that needs to be schooled to learn. The problem comes when they don’t make an effort like they failed to give against Dallas this week.
On the other side, there is a team that’s sneaky good. The Utah Jazz is more than ten games above .500, and they are seriously aiming for a playoffs spot this season. Last year they lost the opportunity in the last week of the season; they won’t allow it to come down to it this year.
Utah has won four of their last five games at home against the Lakers dating 2015. They are averaging 99.6 points per game which is not impressive, but it’s their style. The Jazz only allows 95.3 points per game which is the best number in the league. Facing a team with such a bad offense, it’s a great opportunity for the Jazz to take down the sports betting agents.
NBA Predictions: Jazz.
Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers
- Game Time: Thursday, January 26 | 8:00 PM ET
- Stadium: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
- TV: TNT
By far the best game of the week is the Warriors against the Clippers on Saturday Night. This rivalry has gone to the hands of the Golden State Warriors lately, but expect the Clippers to give a good effort.
The Clippers are missing point guard Chris Paul, and they will find a mismatch at the point guard position most of the game. Power forward Blake Griffin just came back this week from injury and is slowly trying to get back to his All-Star rhythm.
NBA Picks: Warriors.
